The Dukes County Sheriff’s Civil Process Department serves legal documents and enforces civil orders issued by all Massachusetts and out-of-state Courts including summons, complaints, subpoenas, citations, attachments, probate and family court documents, evictions, levies, etc. and enforces court ordered judgments including but not limited to seizing and selling of property through a sheriff’s sale, enforcing evictions and expediting capias arrests.
The DCSO Civil Process Department is mandated to serve and execute all precepts lawfully issued for service by an officer within Dukes County in accordance with Massachusetts General Law c.37. DCSO Civil Process Deputies have unrestricted jurisdiction granting them enforcement authority across Dukes County.
In Fiscal Year 2019, 394 services were processed through the DCSO Civil Process Department.

Come to our physical address, located adjacent to the Martha’s Vineyard Airport, during our regular business hours. Walk-in or call ahead for more information. Please note: service requests must be submitted and confirmed as received by 2:00pm for same-day service. We accept cash, check, or money order for payment of fees; we cannot accept cards at this time. There is an ATM located in the MV Airport nearby.
